37% Merlot 34% Cabernet Sauvignon 29% Cabernet Franc A more open wine than the 1998 Merlot Cabernet. Once again this wine has a very low pH, magnificent tannin structure and will cellar for a long time. It is more approachable in its youth than the 1998 because of richer fruit on the front palate. Stephen Pannell said that the 1999 and 2000 Merlot Cabernets are showing mature vine characters.
